Based on latest developmental trends and strategic orientation of international cooperation, CNRRI is striving to carry out cooperation extensively with well-known rice research organizations as well as universities throughout the world. CNRRI has concentrated its efforts to strengthen the innovation capacity and to enlarge investment for state of the art facilities as new faculty members join the Institute.

New international connecting networks by CNRRI scientists are favorably encouraged, hoping to keep the Institute's competitive edge, to gain international experience for those who are trained at home universities or institutes and eventually to narrow the gap between CNRRI and its international counterparts.

CNRRI has already updated its international cooperation initiatives from simple academic exchanges and short visits to middle-, long-term collaborations with corresponding partners. To date, CNRRI has set up many cooperative programs with international rice research organizations, such as IRRI. Outcomes of these programs and implementation of the ongoing ones has benefited CNRRI a lot in building its international profile.
