The establishment of China National Rice Research Institute (CNRRI) was approved by the State Council, People’s Republic of China.

Oct. 1989

Inauguration Ceremony of China National Rice Research Institute.

Apr. 1991

Rice Product Quality Inspection & Supervision Testing Center was approved to establish by the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA).

Apr. 1998

The Ministry of Agriculture approved to set up the China National Center for Rice Improvement in CNRRI.

Oct. 2002

CNRRI was transformed into a non-profit scientific research organization under the approval of the Ministry of Science & Technology and the Ministry of Finance.

Apr. 2003

Approved by the Ministry of Science & Technology, CNRRI’s Key Laboratory of Rice Biology was upgraded to a national-level key laboratory.

Dec. 2007

CNRRI took the lead of establishing National Rice Industry Research & Development center.

Dec. 2011

Rice Product Quality and Safety Risk Assessment Laboratory of MOA was founded in CNRRI.
