Education Background
Luo Ju, a rice breeding scientist, received his BSc degree (1993) in Crop Genetics and Breeding from Huazhong Agricultural University, China and his PhD degree in Crop Genetics and Breeding (2013) from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), China.
Research Area
He has been working on rice quality genetics and breeding since 1993. He has been awarded three National Prizes for Technology Innovation, Scientific and Technological Progress and 9 Provincial/Ministerial Prizes for Science and Technology Progress. He has developed more than 20 inbred/ hybrid rice varieties and 2 patents authorized in China, and published more than 30 scientific papers.
He is the Deputy Chief of Program Management and International Cooperation Division in CNRRI and is responsible for international cooperation of CNRRI. He is the Chinese Deputy Representative of International Rice Commission, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Chinese focal person of the Council for Partnership in Rice Research in Asia (CORRA).
