International Students in CNRRI Express Anti-Epidemic Confidence

On 23 February, Student Management and Logistics Support Working Groups led by CNRRI Deputy Director General Prof. Qian Qian sent to International Student Apartment abundant living materials, which include rice, milk, oil, wheat flour, vegetables and fruits of various colors, etc. Prof. Qian Qian talked with students about their everyday situation, urging them to raise self-protection awareness during home quarantine, and to make the most of this period to read literature, learn Chinese and prepare for scientific research in the next stage. International students expressed their gratitute for CNRRI’s effort, saying they are optimistic and confident that China will win the anti-epidemic battle finally.

Trust in China, it will never leave you alone

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Wuhan and other cities in China, Chinese government took extraordinary measures to fight against the epidemic. Every Chinese kept the nerves and stood in unity in compliance with their Government’s policies. The whole nation had the only one slogan around the corner "zhongguo Jiayou 中国加油" "Wuhan Jiayou 武汉加油". Many volunteers were on the frontline in this war against the common enemy, many of them sacrificed their lives but never surrendered. This was the kind of passion which was required in this battlefield and Chinese do have. Chinese Government, Doctors, Nurses, Police and Volunteers have changed the course of history by writing some golden chapters. They did it far beyond their duties which showed their immense love to their country. There was strong co-ordination between Chinese central and provincial governments to eliminate this evil.

Thailand Rice Department Delegation Visited CNRRI

During 1 September 2019 to 7 September 2019, the Rice Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand sent a delegation led by Ms. Varenya Singkanipa, expert level agricultural research officer to investigate rice production and its R&D; in China.

CNRRI Enhance Cooperation with Uzbekistan in Rice Science and Technology

September 12nd, 2019

On 26 August 2019, Director General Prof. Hu Peisong of CNRRI (China National Rice Research Institute) met with Minister Mr. Jamshid Khodjaev from Ministry of Agriculture in Uzbekistan. Based on discussion on bilateral cooperation in rice science and technology, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of China-Uzbek Rice Research Joint Center.

GIZ Delegation Visited CNRRI

July 29th, 2019

On 25 July 2019, a delegation organized by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) visited China National Rice Research Institute (CNRRI). Members include staffs of GIZ and representatives from agriculture or rice sector of four West African countries, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana and Mali. Personnel from Program Management & International Cooperation Division and relevant Centers met with them.
